Stavropoleos Courtyard WIP

Personal UDK environment project, based on the courtyard of Stavropoleos church in Romania.

Chosen as a subject due to it’s interesting mix of old and new, the main courtyard was built in the early 20th century upon the grounds of its old monastery and is now populated with the relics of other churches that were destroyed by earthquakes.

Modularly built in UDK using Zbrush and Maya for modelling, XNormal for baking, photoshop and crazybump for texture creation and manipulation.

The images above are all real time work in progress renders from UDK. The courtyard is very nearly finished, and I intend to return to finish off the scene as soon as time permits ( add foliage, fix tiling errors missing textures, lightmap errors etc).
