Sheriff Callie: Deputy For A Day

Goodboy’s second game for Disney provided a fresh new challenge to make a game for the pre-school audience. This necessitated distilling the gameplay down to the simplest of mechanics, as well as the telling of a story in a purely visual manner, with no written words or budget for voiceover.

Whilst creating wireframes for the game, I thought carefully about not only how well a pre-schooler could understand the mechanics, but also ensured that everything was imbued with bounciness, sparkle and little moments of magic that made the simplest of interactions fun.

I created all art assets (such as logo, buttons and pop ups) for the UI and front end and worked with supplied documentation and assets to animate, pose and set up a render pipeline that would output images in the same style as the show and at a high quality to be used as assets in the game. I also got created a bespoke character animation for the chase game, the first time I’ve tackled a quadroped…

You (or your little ones) can boot the game up for a spin here on your desktop, mobile, tablet or console.
